We are looking for a friendly and vibrant GeneralPractice Nurse to join our well-established nursing team.
You will be NMC registered and will share in the usualdistribution of work across our nurse team.
Main duties of the job
Chronic Disease Management/Long Term Conditions withinthe clinic setting
Health Promotion
To collaborate with and enable clients and other membersof the primary health care
Cervical cytology & teaching breast awareness
Treatment of minor injuries
LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work
Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations
Travel health advice and vaccinations
Menopause and HRT consultations
Smoking Cessation
Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles and Pertussis in Pregnancyvaccinations
Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture,swabs
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

Job responsibilities
Cervical cytology & teaching breast awareness
Wound care / ulcer care Treatment of minor injuries
Removal of Sutures
New Patient Medicals / Urinalysis / BP checks
ECGs
COPD / Asthma / Peak Flow Readings / Spirometry
LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work
Ear irrigation
Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations
Travel health advice and vaccinations
Menopause and HRT consultations
Smoking Cessation
Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles and Pertussis in Pregnancyvaccinations
Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate whoare being examined by another clinician
Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture,swabs
Experience in Diabetes / Coronary Heart Disease
Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPsas appropriate
Ordering of vaccinations and equipment to maintain stocklevels
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
At all times there will be a need to maintain accuraterecords
A duty to advise colleagues of potential problems orerrors within the range of assigned tasks
Attend and participate in any Practice meetings whenrequired
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
1. Car driver with clean licence
2. Able to work at the desired times
3. Flexible and able to cover for colleague absence through sickness, annual leave or study leave
4. Experience of primary care
5. Experience and competent in General Treatment Room Duties Experience of working in accordance with the NMC Code of Practice Experience of dealing with the public/patients
6. Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities
7. Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team
8. Able to work under pressure
9. Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense Willingness and enthusiasm to developing nursing skills
10. Able to work in a changing environment

11. Practice Nurse Qualification/Experience
12. Experience in Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, CKD, Stroke, Hypertension)
13. Current (within the last 12 months) emergency resuscitation training certificate
14. Experience of Systemone Clinical System
