About St Christopher School
St Christopher School is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18 located in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. Our School was established in 1915. There are currently around 500 pupils on roll and 200 staff.
Role summary
Swimming Teacher to join the St Chris Swim School team. You will be responsible for swimming supervision and teaching lessons delivered under the St Chris Swim School.
This role covers children from a range of ages and abilities (Pre-School through to Improvers to Pre-Competitive level swimmers and adults).
Qualifications, Training And Experience
* ASA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming/Coaching or equivalent experience
* ASA Level 1
* Experience teaching a range of ages and abilities, including pre-school and adult beginners/improvers
* Ability to prepare written progress reports and conduct poolside risk assessments; maintain a safe teaching environment
Roles And Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and progressive swimming lessons to pupils of all ages and abilities, following the St Chris Swim School Programme
* Monitor and assess swimmer progress; provide individualised feedback and maintain accurate records
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation
* Administer first aid and emergency treatments if qualified (training provided if required)
* Attend regular staff training sessions and CPD to maintain teaching quality
* Maintain relevant qualifications such as NRASTC or NPLQ where applicable
* Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure safety of children and young people
* Promote inclusive, equitable, and diverse practices in line with St Chris Equal Opportunities policy
* Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by Head of Swimming or school management
