Continuous Improvement Engineer position at TipTopJob. Based near Coleshill, West Midlands. Our client is established for almost 40 years and recognised as a market leader in design and development, manufacture and distribution of solutions for global supply. They are growing for 2026 and beyond and are looking for an experienced, hands-on Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a professional manufacturing team.
Salary: to cGBP50k depending on experience, plus benefits.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Design Engineering Manager, the Continuous Improvement Engineer will identify and implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and improve quality, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key focus areas include sustaining continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and related processes, delivering improvements aligned with company objectives and KPIs, and promoting best practices within the team.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies in manufacturing and company processes.
* Work with the engineering team to perform DMAIC activities to eliminate inefficiencies and improve production quality and efficiency.
* Monitor and analyse KPIs to identify areas for improvement and take corrective action as needed.
* Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to optimise operations and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
* Establish effective relationships with shift supervisors or process implementers; provide direction, train and mentor colleagues in SOPs and new ways of working.
* Run Kaizen events, ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, and manage projects from initiation through to implementation within agreed timescales and budgets.
* Improve factory floor layouts, optimise workflow and operator movement; liaise with the Engineering team on specification procurement and implementation of new plant and equipment; revisit changes to ensure sustained results.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of proven experience in a dedicated process improvement manufacturing environment.
* Skilled in lean manufacturing processes and methodologies (Six Sigma, 5S, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban, etc.).
* HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline with experience of AutoCAD and the MS Office suite.
* Excellent influencing and communication skills, ability to diagnose problems, measure and analyse data, determine root cause, implement solutions and sustain outcomes.
