About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be based at our Added Value site in Leicester, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving our automated production environment.
You’ll respond to breakdowns, deliver preventative maintenance, and collaborate with teams across the site to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Working hours are on a rotating shift pattern (week 1: 6am-2pm and week 2: 2pm-10pm) Monday to Friday with 30 minutes off for lunch each day. Once every 4 weeks, 1 week will be 5am-1pm with 30 minutes off for lunch each day.
✅ What You’ll Be Doing
* Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising downtime
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing
* Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment
* Driving improvements in OEE, machine performance, and reliability
* Working cross-functionally to enhance production standards
* Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit readiness
* Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions
* Championing Health & Safety, GMP, and site hygiene standards
🎯 What We’re Looking For
* Multi-skilled engineer with Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3+)
* Recognised apprenticeship (highly desirable)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in an automated production environment
* Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery sectors (preferred)
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* A commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
