Robert Half are working in an exclusive partnership with a unique organisation near Marlborough to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. This is a varied and challenging role that will be involved with a range of bookkeeping duties, all aspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable process and will work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting them with the month-end management accounts process. The Assistant Accountant role is an exciting development opportunity for someone that is pursuing their AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualification and is looking to broaden their accounting experience. The salary is between £30,000 - £35,000 plus study support and will be fully office based.
The Role
The main duties of the Assistant Accountant role will consist of the following:
1. Accounts payable; processing invoices, raising purchase orders, reconciling supplier statements.
2. Accounts receivable; raising and issuing invoices, following up with customers regarding outstanding payments and dealing with queries.
3. Bank reconciliations.
4. Processing payments.
5. Supporting with the month-end management accounts process; accruals, prepayments, journal postings.
6. Supporting with adhoc finance administration.
Requirements
To be considered for the Assistant Accountant role, you must ideally possess the following experience/skills:
7. Must have experience within a similar role or an Accounts/Finance Assistant role.
8. Ideally an AAT, CIMA or ACCA studier.
9. A good understanding of credits and debits.
10. Good attention to detail.
11. Strong attention to detail.
12. Highly organised.
13. Willing to learn.
14. Competent user of Excel.
