The Role
The Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) features the latest technology to reduce manual handling. Large assembly and storage areas provide an optimal working environment, ensuring high standards for instrument processing.
Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 rotating roster, reprocessing reusable medical devices for theatre procedures, rotating through all phases of the reprocessing cycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring and using Steam and Sterrad sterilizers
* Processing equipment loans from external vendors
* Cleaning, setting up, and wrapping instrument trays
* Using electronic tracking systems
* Conducting equipment testing
* Surgical set ups and transferring sterile items to appropriate departments
About You
Recent proven experience as an Instrument Technician (minimum 12 months post-certificate) and a commitment to high service standards are essential. You will have:
* Certificate III in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent
* Knowledge of sterilization standards
* High customer service skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
* Knowledge of OH&S workplace standards
