Children’s Residential Support Worker

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team, supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care of children and young people. You will provide practical, emotional and behavioural support within a safe and nurturing environment, acting as a positive role model and advocate.
You will work closely with colleagues and managers to ensure each young person receives consistent, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people
* Act as a positive role model, offering guidance, stability and encouragement
* Build meaningful relationships using a trauma-informed approach
* Promote the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all young people
* Support young people with complex needs and behaviours
* Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
* Advocate for young people’s wishes, feelings and rights
* Support daily routines, activities and appointments
* Respond effectively to challenging situations and crisis interventions
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve positive outcomes
* Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing environment

* Experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
* A caring, resilient and patient approach
* Ability to build trust and positive relationships
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
* Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts and weekends
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
