This is an exciting opportunity for two new roles to be part of the developing Immunotherapy service within JCCISM. The roles will work closely with the SACT/Immunotherapy Clinical Lead, SACT lead nurse, and ACP for Immunotherapy to deliver high-quality care and develop this growing service to ensure equitable care for patients in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues and the primary healthcare team.
Role Overview
1. Work across all tumour groups within cancer services, providing specialist nursing advice, information, and support to patients receiving immunotherapy treatment and toxicity management.
2. Assist, support, and promote health to staff, while improving clinical practice, service provision, and patient-centered care.
3. Participate actively in the multidisciplinary team, networking locally and nationally for practice development, research, audit, standardization of patient information, and clinical supervision.
4. Work Monday to Friday across multiple hospital sites to meet service needs.
5. Develop and deliver a coordinated immunotherapy service in outpatient and inpatient settings.
6. Provide expert care, advice, and support to patients and carers on immune checkpoint inhibitors and manage immunotherapy-related toxicities, including patient assessment and caseload management.
7. Act as an educational resource for healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
8. Collaborate closely with the specialist team to ensure up-to-date advice and timely referrals to improve patient outcomes.
9. Support the immunotherapy service by contributing to cost-effective, efficient, and quality care tailored to patient needs.
10. Engage in policy development, education, audits, research, and professional growth as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
