Job Overview
The Engineering Manager will oversee a staff of System Engineers, both domestically and internationally, ensuring that high-quality communications products & systems are designed to meet customer specifications.
A Day In The Life
Management of the System Engineering department includes:
1. Planning and coordinating department activity/workload.
2. Monitoring employee performance and providing feedback.
3. Completing performance growth, development, and training of staff.
4. Ensuring employee safety while performing work.
Manage all functions related to the design and documentation control of custom equipment and systems, including:
1. Encouraging efficient processing methods to meet customer needs.
2. Reviewing engineering designs periodically to ensure high quality, accuracy, and conformance with company standards.
3. Designing, upgrading, and implementing new processes and procedures to improve the efficiency of the System Engineering group.
Coordinate interdepartmental activities and be available for travel as needed to support large projects.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
* Five years' experience applying electronic knowledge to product development from concept.
* Two years supervisory experience.
* Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate with departments like supply chain, operations, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
* Fostering a positive environment and acting as a mentor for subordinates.
* Effective communication skills for presenting to top management, clients, and customers.
* Experience in the electric utility industry or electrical connector device design is a plus.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and PC applications.
