Responsibilities
The Role: The role aims to prevent Solus breaching statutory compliance by ensuring that each site is in full compliance with Solus requirements and mitigations put in place. This crucial role provides support to the UK HSE Lead and offers advice and support to all sites and head office teams on Health, Safety, and Environment matters. The UK HSE Advisor will assist in delivering the health and safety strategy and manage the day-to-day operations of the HSE management system.
Key Outputs:
* Ensure Solus adheres to statutory requirements
* Identify and manage risks with appropriate controls
* Conduct HS&E Audits
* Conduct Risk Assessments / SWPs
* Produce statistics / reports
* Investigate accidents, including root cause analysis
* Perform Noise Assessments
* Carry out DSE Workstation assessments
* Conduct COSHH Assessments
* Assess Tool HAV
* Research new equipment, chemicals, and PPE to ensure the least hazardous options are used
* Resolve, report, and escalate issues
* Provide solutions to challenges
* Advise and support all sites
* Deputise for UK HSE Lead during holidays
* Review OHO reports and statutory inspection reports
* Attend meetings as requested by UK HSE Lead
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH General Certificate qualified
* Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role, preferably multisite or large single site
* Experience in high-risk mechanical environments preferred
* Operational management experience is a plus
* Knowledge of 5S principles and environmental requirements
