The Opportunity:

As an Oracle Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle database solutions to support the organization's data infrastructure and analytical needs. Leveraging your expertise in Oracle database technologies and data engineering best practices, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect robust data pipelines, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity and security.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement Oracle database solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.
* Develop database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to support application functionality and analytical needs.
* Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning.
* Build and maintain robust data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into Oracle databases.
* Implement data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow across different systems and platforms.
* Develop ETL processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, or custom scripts as needed.
* Design and implement data models to support the organization's analytical and reporting requirements.
* Define data architecture standards and best practices for Oracle databases.
* Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to align data models with business objectives.
* Perform routine database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, patch management, and capacity planning.
* Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure system availability and reliability.
* Implement and enforce data security policies and access controls to protect sensitive information.
* Document database designs, configurations, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure system maintainability.
* Provide training and support to users and stakeholders on database-related topics and best practices.
* Stay current with Oracle database technologies and trends, and evaluate new tools and techniques for potential adoption
What we're looking for in our applicants:
* Proven experience as a data engineer or database developer with a focus on Oracle database technologies.
* In-depth knowledge of Oracle database concepts, architecture, and features, including SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle performance tuning.
* Hands-on experience with Oracle database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, security management, and capacity planning.
* Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, or similar.
* Experience with ETL tools and technologies such as Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, or custom ETL scripts.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize database performance.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
* Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is a plus.
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is preferred.
* Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
