Overview
We are hiring a Class Teacher at Wessex Lodge School, part of Acorn Education, within Outcomes First Group. Location: Wessex Lodge School, Frome, Somerset BA11 4LA. Salary: From £32,000.00 per annum (not pro rata). Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only. UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
We are participating in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week (4DWW). You could be working one day less per week (or equivalent) if the trial is successful. 4DWW is subject to probation and is not a contractual benefit.
About the role: As a dynamic and motivated qualified teacher, you will respond to the needs of individuals with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them flourish and thrive. You will plan and deliver engaging learning daily, developing innovative methods that stimulate interest in the classroom. You will observe, monitor and assess students, prioritising personal development and wellbeing alongside the academic curriculum.

Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons for pupils with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.
* Observe, monitor and assess pupil progress, focusing on personal development and wellbeing as well as academic outcomes.
* Use innovative methods and resources to stimulate pupil interest and participation.
* Collaborate with colleagues and professionals within the school and with pupils’ previous educational establishments.
* Contribute to the school’s vision and direction and foster a caring school environment.
Qualifications and experience
* UK QTS or equivalent.
* Previous teaching experience with the relevant pupil age range and needs.

Wessex Lodge School comprises three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School (Kilmington), Wessex Lodge Secondary School (Frome), and Newmead Farm (Maiden Bradley).
