In this role, you will be reporting to our Laboratory Manager who has been with UL Solutions for 18 years ! Responsibilities Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests. Performs tests using general laboratory equipment. Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area. Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software. As directed, follows defined test plans and datasheets. Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. Records and explains test results. Reads and interprets results of tests. Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results. Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions. As instructed, examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case. Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets. Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. LI-Onsite LI-ZK1 Qualifications Technical High School or Bachelor's degree (preferably: Electrical field). Around 1-3 years of working experience in the same type of role would be preferred. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must. Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers. Desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation. Overall knowledge about batteries will be additional benefit.
