At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Mechanical Supervisor at RAF Shawbury, providing technical leadership and supervision within our Aircraft Maintenance, Storage and Unit (AMSU) team.
The role
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising mechanical activity and providing technical support across aircraft storage, maintenance and preparation tasks. You’ll play a key role in ensuring work is carried out safely, compliantly and to the highest standards, while supporting quality assurance and health and safety programmes.
* Supervising mechanical activity within the AMSU team to ensure safe and effective task delivery.
* Preparing a range of aircraft types for storage, sale or disposal.
* Carrying out and overseeing in storage maintenance across multiple aircraft platforms.
* Controlling and supporting the AMSU Quality Assurance and Safety programmes.
* Conducting internal audits and supporting Health and Safety compliance activities.
This is a full time, onsite role, working:
* Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
* Friday: 08:00 - 15:00
Essential experience of the Mechanical Supervisor
* Considerable aviation experience.
* Experience working on fast jet aircraft.
* Experience in a supervisory role.
* Experience working on multiple aircraft types.
* Proven background in Quality Assurance and Health and Safety.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Supervisor
Formal aircraft engineering trade training with recognised certification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
