Job Description
Purpose
* Provide security services at the working location in line with Assignment Instructions and customer requirements.
* Protect customers’ employees, property, and assets.
* Deliver high levels of customer service demonstrating Securitas’ core values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness.
* Must have a full SIA Licence before starting operational shifts.
Responsibilities
You will act as the first point of contact for staff and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service. As a Security Officer, you will ensure protection of property and premises by preventing unauthorized access, monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV; conducting patrols; managing keys; and maintaining logs and records. You’ll also handle visitor passes, lost property, and perform security equipment tests. Prevent loss and waste by reporting risks and securing premises during patrols. Deter crime by operating security devices, enforcing stop and search policies, and reporting incidents. Additional duties include completing paperwork, making check calls, and supporting branch management. Demonstrate Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness, while prioritising safety and compliance. Key competencies include Managing Self, Decision Making, Communication Skills, Operational Excellence, and Relationship Building.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
* Valid SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor)
* Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends
* Right to work in the UK with a 5‑year checkable history
* Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
* No current criminal convictions
* Ability to embody and uphold Securitas core values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness
* Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Punctual and reliable
Desirable
* Prior experience as a Security Officer in the security industry
* A First Aid qualification would be advantageous
* A full UK driving licence and own transport
* Experience in corporate security, reception security, or control room duties
* Competent in using CCTV, access control, and basic IT systems
