Staff Nurse - Tissue Viability

The successful applicant will work as a band 5 staff nurse within our Tissue Viability Team covering the geographical area of Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, Settle and Bentham.
The role will involve working in a clinic setting for both Tissue Viability and other community services, and will also involve visiting patients within their own homes.
The role will include assessing new wounds referred by primary care, sign posting, commencing optimum treatment plans and working in collaboration with senior members of the Tissue Viability Team and MDT colleagues.
The successful applicant with also provide advice/support and education to colleagues/staff, patients and carers.

Main duties of the job
To work as a Staff Nurse across the geographical area of BDCFT and AWC within the Tissue Viability Teamo To work as Tissue Viability Staff Nurse, assessing new wounds referred by primary care, sign posting, commencing optimum treatment plans and working in collaboration with Tissue Viability and MDT colleagues.o To work as an effective team player contributing to the development of the service in collaboration with colleagues and senior nurses in the teamo To provide a high standard of care that is research/evidence based and clinically effective at all timeso To provide support, advice and education on pressure ulcer prevention and management to colleagues/staff, patients, and carerso To provide support, advice, and education on tissue viability to colleagues, patients, and carers

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC Registered Nurse.
* Wound management, pressure ulcer management, leg ulcer management successfully completed via in-house training programmes.
* Educated to degree level Recognised qualification in tissue viability related subject/s.
Experience
* Current or recent (within last 12 months) experience of working in an environment dealing with tissue viability/leg ulcer management, pressure ulcer prevention,
* Experience of community nursing
Knowledge
* Up to date, demonstrable knowledge of pressure ulcer management, skin care, wound/leg ulcer management etc.
physical
* Car driver, current full driving licence,
