Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Goods In Operative to join our busy warehouse team. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and initial storage of all incoming goods, ensuring the smooth flow of stock into our operations.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of maintaining precise inventory records and adhering to strict quality control and safety standards.
Shift Pattern:
Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:15pm
Fridays - 7:30am-1:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Receiving Deliveries: Unloading incoming goods from vehicles, operating a Fork Lift Truck or Crane, once trained.
* Inspecting Goods: Checking deliveries for accuracy against accompanying paperwork (delivery notes, invoices) and inspecting items for any damage or missing products.
* Documentation and Recording: Accurately logging all received stock onto an inventory management system and maintaining precise records.
* Quality Control: Conducting initial quality checks on received goods and reporting any discrepancies or defects to management or the relevant department.
* Storage and Organisation: Moving goods to their correct designated storage locations within the warehouse, ensuring they are stored safely and methodically.
* Stock Management Support: Assisting with regular stock control activities, such as conducting stock counts or audits, to ensure inventory accuracy.
* Maintaining a Safe and Tidy Environment: Adhering to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised goods-in and work area, and reporting any safety issues or maintenance needs.
* Liaising with Other Teams: Communicating with suppliers regarding deliveries and discrepancies, and working with internal teams such as Quality Control, Production, or Inventory to ensure smooth operations.
* Operating Machinery: Safely operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or lifting gear once trained.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience working within in a Warehouse environment, preferably within Goods in or Despatch.
* Experience driving a Fork Lift Truck
* Experience operating an Overhead Crane
* Strong attention to detail
* Computer literate
* Team player
