Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles, although sushi experience is not required.
Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing and cooking a variety of Japanese dishes, excluding sushi, ensuring high standards of quality and taste.
2. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
3. Collaborating with kitchen staff for smooth operations and efficient service.
4. Staying updated with Japanese culinary trends and techniques.
5. Training and mentoring junior staff to foster a positive environment.
6. Developing new recipes and menu items showcasing Japanese cuisine diversity.
7. Proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
8. Monitoring food costs and minimizing waste.
9. Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are met.
10. Working efficiently under pressure for timely dish preparation and delivery.
11. Participating in menu planning and development for consistency in taste and presentation.
12. Handling customer feedback professionally to enhance dining experiences.
13. Participating in staff meetings and training for team cohesion and improvement.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Japanese Cuisine Chef (sushi experience not required).
* Deep knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients.
