An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Oral Surgery department for a Band 6 Dental Nurse to support the delivery of care and provide leadership.
Main duties of the job
Supporting outpatient clinics, minor ops, sedation and theatres, taking x‑rays and CBCT.
Providing leadership and guiding the team, supporting the Band 7 Department Manager.
Job responsibilities
Supporting clinics, minor ops, sedation and theatres. Undertaking dental x‑rays and CBCT. Supporting Orthodontic clinics.
Providing leadership to the dental nursing team and supporting the Head and Neck Department manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Professional Registration
* National Certificate in Dental Nursing
* Post qualification certificate in Dental Radiography
* Full Registration with the General Dental Council
Experience
* Significant band 5 Dental Nurse experience
* Evidence of professional expertise acquired through CPD
* Ability to manage a team
* Ability to participate in project work, audits and data collection
Skills
* Good Interpersonal skills
* Able to prioritise/cope with pressure
* Able to lead and manage change
Knowledge
* Knowledge of current DOH guidelines for speciality
