Mechanical Execution Engineer
Location: Tunstead
Reporting to: Head of Mechanical
Direct Reports: 7 Mechanical Craftsperson
Join our Tunstead Cement Plant as a Mechanical Execution Engineer, leading the delivery of safe, efficient and reliable mechanical maintenance. This is a key role managing a skilled team and driving plant performance through strong planning, people leadership and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
1. Lead, coach and develop a team of 7 mechanical craftsperson
2. Create weekly maintenance schedules using capacity planning
3. Chair daily Production/Maintenance meetings
4. Oversee safe, high‑quality mechanical maintenance work
5. Manage subcontractors and ensure cost‑effective delivery
6. Support plant improvements, shutdowns and reliability projects
7. Adapt plans quickly to meet operational priorities
8. Promote a strong Health & Safety culture through daily engagement
9. Act as first contact for out‑of-hours breakdowns
10. Deputise for the Head of Mechanical when required
What You’ll Bring
11. Mechanical HNC/HND (Degree desirable)
12. 5+ years’ experience at supervisor level
13. Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills
14. Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance principles
15. Confident decision‑maker in fast‑paced environments
16. Proficient with CMMS (SAP preferred) & Microsoft Office
17. Experience with cost control & contractor management
18. Cement industry experience and NEBOSH/IOSH beneficial
