Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP at Ilford Medical Centre, your clinical sessions will include a mix of booked and acute appointments, supported by EMIS Web workflows designed to minimise administrative fragmentation. You will be expected to manage a broad range of undifferentiated general practice presentations, including long‑term condition management, acute illness, and complex multimorbidity. You will work as part of an integrated MDT, with routine, administrative and condition‑monitoring tasks appropriately distributed across the wider clinical workforce. Duty doctor cover is required only occasionally, during colleague absence. The role includes protected administrative time within sessions, enabling you to complete tasks, referrals and correspondence without encroaching on clinical time. As a training practice, there is the option to contribute to undergraduate or postgraduate GP education, supervision or mentoring. ROLE PURPOSE

Sessions are ideally worked as Tuesday PM, Wednesday PM and Friday full day, with some flexibility where possible. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical care
The post‑holder will provide a mix of booked and acute GP appointments, assessing, diagnosing and managing undifferentiated presentations across all ages and clinical complexity. This includes management of long‑term conditions, acute illness, mental health, musculoskeletal problems, frailty and complex multimorbidity. The post‑holder will issue and review prescriptions in accordance with practice prescribing policy and relevant NICE and ICB guidance, and will refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services using local and PCN pathways. Home visits are a minimal and clearly defined element of the role. Duty doctor cover is required only occasionally, during planned colleague absence. Multidisciplinary team working
The post‑holder will work collaboratively with the full practice MDT, including clinical pharmacists, practice nurses, physician associates, paramedic practitioners, social prescribing link workers, care coordinators and first contact physiotherapists via the PCN. They will contribute to MDT meetings, support appropriate escalation of complex cases and engage in regular clinical discussion. Administrative responsibilities
Protected administrative time is included within sessions. The post‑holder will manage their clinical inbox, complete tasks, letters and results within agreed practice timescales, and maintain accurate SNOMED CT‑coded records in EMIS Web in line with practice and QOF requirements. Quality, safety and governance
The post‑holder will participate in clinical audit, significant event analysis and quality improvement. They will comply with CQC standards, GMC Good Medical Practice, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and will complete mandatory training including safeguarding, information governance and infection control within agreed timeframes. The post‑holder will hold and maintain GP‑level safeguarding training (Level 3 children and adults), follow NEL ICB and Redbridge LSCP safeguarding procedures, make appropriate referrals to Redbridge MASH, contribute to MARAC processes where required and comply with FGM mandatory reporting duties under Section 5B of the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003. Teaching and professional development
The practice welcomes contribution to undergraduate or postgraduate GP education and supervision. The post‑holder will engage in CPD in line with BMA guidance, maintain a Personal Development Plan and participate in annual appraisal and revalidation. CONTRACT AND REMUNERATION
