Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Service Manager to lead and develop our Domestic Abuse Think Family Service. This service is part of a co-located, guided intervention model within Solihull Children’s Services, championing systems change, safe practice and direct work with professionals and families, including victims and survivors, and those using harm.

You will play a key role in violence and abuse prevention services, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective responses to domestic abuse, in line with Respect practice standards.

What You’ll Do

1. Lead the safe and effective delivery of the Domestic Abuse Think Family Service in line with contractual requirements and quality standards.
2. Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and practice oversight to a team of Senior Domestic Abuse Practitioners.
3. Support safe and effective work with high-risk, serial and complex domestic abuse cases, including escalation decisions and guidance on risk management.
4. Provide direct interventions to individuals where required, and support professionals to respond robustly to risk assessment requirements and identified risk and harm.
5. Increase safety for victims and survivors through strong safeguarding practice, multi-agency planning and effective case direction.
6. Challenge victim blaming culture and promote best practice across colleagues and partner organisations.
7. Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partnership agencies, attending multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic discussions.
8. Lead and contribute to service development, introducing new ideas, methods and processes that strengthen safe practice and outcomes.
9. Report on service performance and outcomes, including professional report writing and the publication or presentation of data sets, with awareness of national domestic abuse trends.
10. Work flexibly between 09:00 and 17:00, with some evening working during the week, managing your own workload and administration confidently.

Who we’re looking for

You will have:

11. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working within domestic abuse services or settings.
12. Experience of providing direct interventions to individuals.
13. A strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and survivors, while holding those using harm to account.
14. Excellent safeguarding knowledge and confidence applying safeguarding procedures in complex contexts.
15. Confidence working both independently and as part of a team, within a multi-agency environment.
16. The ability to support professionals to respond robustly to risk, challenge victim blaming and improve safety planning.
17. Strong communication skills, including confidence discussing sensitive and complex issues, writing professional reports and reporting performance data.
18. A forward-thinking, flexible approach, with commitment to safe practice and behaviour change work in the context of domestic abuse.

We actively seek to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we work with and encourage applications from individuals across all protected characteristics. We also welcome applications from those with lived experience of domestic abuse or related challenges.
