This role is working for a successful BRC AA Graded food manufacturer. The company produces high-quality food products and provides exceptional service, enabling their food manufacturing customers to innovate and increase productivity without compromising on quality.
About the QA Technician role
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the QA Supervisor and other departments to ensure the products and services meet agreed specifications, timelines, and the highest technical and quality standards. Your commitment will help maintain full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while delivering excellence.
Key tasks
1. Maintain accurate records of all quality paperwork received and/or returned from other Departments, ensuring tasks (QA Matrix) and other activities are completed within designated timescales.
2. Operate all quality and food safety systems throughout all departments, ensuring full documentation and compliance with the BRC Global Food Standard and legislation.
3. Assist with customer complaints by identifying root causes, determining corrective actions, and ensuring complaints are closed out as per company procedures.
4. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, external contacts, and colleagues. Assist in customer visits and site technical audits as necessary.
About You
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a Quality Assurance environment, ideally with a degree in Food Science. HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are essential. You should be PC literate and an excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal.

The QA Technician role (ref: 8899) offers a salary of £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience. The site is located in Wigan, Greater Manchester, accessible from Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Preston, Ormskirk, St Helens, Chorley, Bury, and surrounding areas of Lancashire and Merseyside.
Working hours
Rotating shifts on a three-week schedule:
* Week 1: Monday – Thursday 06:00–14:30 & Friday 06:00-13:30
* Week 2: Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30 & Friday 07:30 – 15:00
* Week 3: Monday – Wednesday 11:30-22:00 & Thursday 11:30-21:00
