Role Overview
The Outcome Measurement Innovation Team at ITV is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Legal for Advanced Advertising, you will manage a wide range of legal matters, balancing speed and thoroughness, and providing creative legal solutions for complex projects involving data sharing, privacy, regulation, and commercial agreements.
Responsibilities
1. Manage all legal aspects of MIT in collaboration with the Head of Legal, including routine and complex agreements.
2. Coordinate with ITV’s legal teams across Privacy, Platforms, and Regulatory to ensure cohesive legal strategies.
3. Advise MIT team members on legal approaches, draft contracts, and legal documents for various use cases.
4. Liaise with technical and commercial stakeholders.
5. Represent ITV's legal position in industry discussions and communicate effectively across the business.
Minimum Requirements
1. UK-qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate in England and Wales, with at least 5 years PQE or relevant experience.
2. Experience advising on data protection, privacy (GDPR, PECR), and advertising/marketing law.
3. Understanding of internet operations, modern communication networks, and contracting with technology and data service providers.
Preferred Skills
1. Commercially-minded with strong communication skills and ability to manage priorities.
2. Experience working with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs.
3. Expertise in privacy, data handling, and risk management.
4. Knowledge of TV advertising measurement frameworks (e.g., BARB) and the advertising landscape.
