About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will actively embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers.
When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop.
Note: Due to the nature of this role, you must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
1. Check your delivery routes for the day.
2. Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
3. Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road safety and compliance.
4. Represent the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service on the road.
5. Assist customers with shopping, building rapport based on trust and service.
6. Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Full valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting crates and moving cages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* IT literate.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
