Vacancy: Stock Control Assistant (12-month fixed term)

Bookspeed is an imaginative, energetic and customer-focused book wholesaler. Everything we do is geared to our customers' successes and staff well-being: we believe the two are closely linked. Our customers come in all shapes and sizes and have a diverse range of product needs. We deal with around 400 book publishers and suppliers to meet those needs.
The Role:
We are looking for an organised and proactive Stock Control Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Publisher Relations Director, this role supports the Stock Control Team in working with suppliers to ensure that Bookspeed purchases and coordinates incoming stock efficiently and at the best possible price.
Responsibilities:
* Raising and placing purchase orders
* Checking invoices for reports/errors/new titles
* Report maintenance
* Checking product availability
* Liaising with the sales team on availability issues
* Liaising with publishers on purchase orders and reprint/publication dates
* Liaising with the bibliographic team to ensure title information is kept up to date

We're looking for someone who:
* Has strong organisational and time-management skills
* Can demonstrate good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (training will be provided where needed)
* Shows great attention to detail
* Communicates clearly and confidently, with a professional telephone manner
* Is flexible and willing to take on other reasonable tasks to support the company's needs
Working pattern:
This is a full time, fixed term role for 12 months and hybrid working is available.
