This is a key leadership role within the school, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, ensuring strong controls, accurate reporting, and effective use of resources to support educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the day‑to‑day financial management of the school, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis for senior leadership and governors.
* Oversee all financial processes including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll coordination, and reconciliations.
* Manage and monitor school budgets, ensuring effective allocation and control of resources.
* Support the Headteacher and senior leadership team with financial planning and strategic decision‑making.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and education sector funding guidelines.
* Manage cash flow, banking, and financial systems, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
* Prepare year‑end accounts and support external audit processes.
* Provide clear financial insight to non‑finance stakeholders, including governors and department heads.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and better use of funding.
About You:
* Experience in a finance management or senior accounting role (school/education sector experience desirable but not essential).
* Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and financial controls.
* Confident producing management accounts and financial reports.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
* Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
* Strong Excel skills; experience with financial systems is advantageous.
* AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience).
