This role offers the chance to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and, as Accounts Manager, you will act as a key point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from SMEs to owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of accounts and advisory services while building strong, long-term client relationships - whilst also playing a key role in the continued development of both the team and the business.
This is a highly visible role within the firm, offering a blend of technical work, client interaction, and team leadership—ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a collaborative environment.
On a day to day basis your responsibilities will include:
* Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of year-end accounts and financial statements
* Review work prepared by junior staff, providing guidance, feedback, and technical support
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact
* Support clients with business advice, financial insight, and ad hoc queries
* Oversee the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns and VAT returns
* Assist with practice development initiatives, including process improvements and client service enhancements
* Support partners with client meetings, business development, and strategic planning
* Mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to a positive and high-performing team culture
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
We are seeking a confident and personable individual with strong practice experience and a genuine passion for client service. You will likely bring a recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or equivalent) and it is essential that you have proven experience within an accountancy practice environment. You will possess strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation and tax compliance alongside excellent client-facing communication skills, an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively whilst demonstrating a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
