Technical Officer Ulster Farmers Union Location: Northern Ireland Reporting to: Technical Manager Salary range : £37,070 to £43,613 The Ulster Farmers Union (UFU) is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Technical Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for farmers by providing expert technical support and policy advice to UFU members and support our county committees. Key Responsibilities Deliver technical advice, support, and knowledge to UFU members, staff, and committees. Collaborate with the UFU Policy team and technical colleagues to share best practices and deliver high-quality service. Offer policy and technical support to individual and groups of members as needed. Maintain accurate records using UFUs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Provide training, briefings, and technical information to UFU group offices. Ensure all activities comply with UFU policies and promote the benefits of UFU at every opportunity. Coordinate effectively with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for members. Candidate Profile Essential: Demonstrable experience in a relevant field (5 years), and/or a relevant third-level qualification. Strong connection to farming and countryside issues. Demonstrable negotiation skills and analytical ability. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Advanced written and verbal communication skills; able to build rapport with farmers. Experience using computers and common software packages. Holds a clean driving licence and access to a car with flexible working hours.
