Summary: The Quality Engineer will provide expert quality management advice to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 within electrical infrastructure construction projects. Reporting to the Quality and Assurance Manager, the role involves reviewing, auditing, certifying, and managing procedures and processes to maintain and improve the quality management system. The position requires close collaboration with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and clients to monitor compliance, conduct audits, and support quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role also includes developing training and induction materials, managing quality-related documentation, and facilitating third-party audits. The successful candidate will work across multiple directorates and represent the organisation at operational and project levels, ensuring that quality standards are upheld in line with legal, client, and industry requirements.
Skills: Quality management system expertise (ISO 9001:2015)
Experience in UK CDM (2015) construction regulations
Internal and external auditing skills
Root cause analysis
Development and implementation of quality procedures and processes
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to influence and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Planning and organisational skills
Risk, compliance, and governance understanding
Valid UK driving licence and ability to obtain client access passes/licenses
Software/Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Certifications & Standards: Practitioner membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) with aspiration for Chartered status
Trained QMS/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015
Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 (desirable)
Awareness of ISO 55001:2024, ISO 44001:2017, and ISO 19650 series (advantageous)
