About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Electrochemical and Bioelectronic Interface Group at the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, working on an EU HORIZON funded project to develop next-generation battery sensor technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and fabrication of multifunctional sensors for in-situ characterisation of next generation lithium-ion batteries, helping to advance safer and more reliable energy storage systems.
What you would be doing
In this role, you will lead research on multifunctional battery sensor technologies as part of a collaborative EU HORIZON project. Your work will involve designing, fabricating, and testing innovative sensor systems for in-situ characterisation of lithium-ion batteries. You will also share your findings through publications and presentations, and work closely with academic and industrial partners to maximise the impact of your research.
What we are looking for
* A strong background in electrochemical energy storage, particularly lithium-ion batteries.
* Experience in device microfabrication and sensor integration.
* Practical skills in materials characterisation and in-situ/operando testing methods.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and international team.
* Strong communication skills and a track record of (or potential for) high-quality publications.
