About the role
We are a 210 place Early Years Education Centre with an outstanding Ofsted rating and reputation, and we serve the community of Imperial College London caring for the staff and student's children.
We are looking to recruit one part time Domestic Support Worker who is committed to the cleanliness of the Centre which provides professional high-quality childcare and education in an environment that is clean, safe, and hygienic for each of the children, and the staff and parents who attend the setting.
Safeguarding children is our priority, and all post holders are required to adhere to the EYEC's Safeguarding children and Whistle blowing policy. All post holders will be required to obtain a satisfactory enhanced level Disclosure and Barring check.
What you would be doing
You will work from 06:00-09:00 Monday to Friday and be responsible for providing a high standard of hygiene and maintaining the cleanliness of the Centre's indoor and outdoor environment by performing various daily cleaning duties.
You will also be required to provide regular deep cleaning, identify areas that need particular attention and report any health and safety concerns to ensure a safe environment for all users of the Centre.
What we are looking for
* Someone willing to undertake training as and when required
* A willingness to receive training including, general knowledge of Health & Safety issues and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
* Previous experience in a domestic role and working as part of a team
* Previous experience using equipment for polishing and cleaning various surfaces
* Excellent hygiene practices
* Understanding the safe storage and use of chemicals, germs and the prevention of spread of infection
* Understanding the importance of safeguarding children
* Be able to communicate effectively in English with all users of the Centre
* Be physically fit to undertake the full duties of the post requirements
* Show flexibility in relation to time, new ideas and helping other team members
* Comply with the protective clothing policy and have a clean, smart and tidy appearance at all times
* Honesty and integrity are essential as is discretion and confidentiality
