Job Description
IT Support Technician required. My client is a globally recognised as a market leader in Finished Vehicle Logistics. They have been established for over 30 years. They are now looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to join the team based in Carlisle. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing end-user support and maintaining IT infrastructure, managing incidents, and investigations of network and EDI communication problems. This role is also required to provide user support for Microsoft Office Applications & Business Applications.
Position Overview
1. Responding to support incidents and requests via phone, email or face to face
2. Ensure all incidents and requests are managed and updated in the service desk tool
3. Troubleshoot and maintain all aspects of PC hardware, servers, peripherals and applications
4. Deploy PC Hardware, servers, peripherals and maintain infrastructure records
5. Manage and support the telephone system and smartphones
6. Troubleshoot and resolve network and EDI communication problems
7. Support Business & Desktop Applications
8. Perform daily infrastructure checks
9. Manage Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, and Microsoft Exchange
10. Apply OS and application upgrades, updates and fixes
11. Maintain internal documentation and knowledgebase articles
12. Hardware & Software configuration, deployment, installation & upgrades
13. Patching & managing user access rights and security
Position Requirements
14. At-least 3 years in a similar role
15. Good knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
16. Fundamental support knowledge of PC hardware, servers and peripherals
17. Active Directory and Group Policy Management Experience
18. Desktop Deployment & Microsoft Exchange knowledge
19. Exposure to VMWare vSphere
20. Knowledge of Android and IOS Smartphones / ActiveSync
21. Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word, Outlook & Power point
22. Understanding of basic networking concepts
23. End-user support experience
24. Good communication & problem-solving skills
Position Remuneration
25. Monday to Friday
26. Salary: £28,000 – 33,000 (Dependant on experience)
