Bramhall & Shaw Heath Medical Group are looking for anexperienced Practice Nurse to join our Nursing team.
Main duties of the job
To be fully proficient inChronic disease management, vaccinations and immunisations, cervical screening,contraceptive reviews, wound care including compression, as well as othergeneral treatment room duties.
To provide support to the nursing team including healthcare assistants.
You will partake in the responsibility for overseeing infectioncontrol standards and cold chain compliancy.

Participate in an annual appraisal
Actively participate in clinicaland practice meetings
Clinical duties
Provide Chronic diseasemanagement for Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, and CHD/CVD
Perform cervical screening
Administer adult and paediatricinjections
Provide adult and childimmunisations ensuring full achievement of targets
Ensure safe storage, rotation,and disposal of vaccines and drugs
Undertake venepuncture andelectrocardiography
Undertake wound care/ management/ dressing techniques
Undertake leg ulcer management,dopplers and compression bandaging
Provide advice on lifestyleissues, assisting and supporting patients in changing their unhealthybehaviours and refer appropriately
Participate in the smokingcessation service
Deliver travel health care,including vaccinations and advice for patients
Recognise the signs of childabuse, family violence, vulnerable adults, substance abuse, addictivebehaviours, suicidal tendencies, and be aware of local, referral procedures
Work with safeguarding teamswhere relevant
Ensure that currentevidence-based approaches to patient care are standard practice
Apply infection control measureswhen collecting and handling of laboratory specimens, disposing of wastematerials, dealing with blood and body fluids spillages and report and treatsharps injuries
Undertake first aid andmanagement of emergencies, burns, haemorrhages, hypo/hyperglycaemicemergencies/asthma attacks
Audit outcomes of care againststandards and initiate change as necessary ensuring follow-up audit cycle as neccessary

Qualifications
Essential
1. Nursing degree or other relevant nursing qualification granting professional license to practice primary care nursing
2. Qualified in chronic disease management for Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and CHD/CVD
3. Wound dressing and leg compressions
4. Cervical screening qualification
5. Venepuncture and electrocardiography.
Desirable
6. Experience of working in a GP practice Working via Emis Web
7. Stable career history showing clear commitment and progression Independent prescribing qualification
