Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Theatre/Endoscopy team at the Lorn and Islands Hospital Oban. The department cares for elective and emergency surgical and endoscopy patients, operating Monday to Friday with an out of hours on‑call service for emergencies.
Responsibilities
* Work two days per week across all areas – peri‑operative, anaesthetics, reception, recovery and endoscopy – and be part of the on‑call team.
* Provide safe and effective care to patients with varying levels of complexity, under pressure and flexibly to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.
* Support the team in both elective and emergency surgical/endoscopic procedures.
Qualifications
* Previous healthcare experience is essential.
* Effective team member with excellent communication skills.
* Competent IT skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to flexible working patterns.
Additional Information
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
