A leading structural steel and hybrid structures specialist is currently looking for a permanent Structural Steel Detailer to produce 3D fabrication models, GA drawings, and erection drawings using Tekla Structures across hybrid steel, timber, and commercial construction projects in Derbyshire.
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Duties:
* Produce accurate 3D models, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings using Tekla Structures
* Detail heavy structural steelwork and portal framed buildings to a high standard
* Interpret engineering and architectural drawings and specifications
* Coordinate with engineers, project managers, fabrication teams, and site personnel
* Prepare material lists, NC files, and drawing issue packages
* Raise and manage technical queries and RFIs throughout the project lifecycle
* Produce lotting, phasing, and marking plans to suit programme requirements
* Attend internal and external project coordination meetings as required
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience detailing heavy structural steelwork and portal framed buildings
* Minimum 5 years' experience using Tekla Structures
* Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
* Thorough knowledge of steelwork connections and "Green Book" standards
* Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
* Experience working on industrial and commercial steelwork projects
* Knowledge of BIM workflows and CNC fabrication output data
* Experience using AutoCAD (2D) desirable but not essential
* Experience detailing timber glulam and CLT advantageous but not essential - training provided
