Role Overview
Applicants must be qualified solicitors with practising rights in the UK. The Lexcel‑accredited Legal Team will provide legal advice, assistance and support to Council officers, elected members and external clients at all levels. This role is a one‑year fixed‑term contract aimed at protecting some of our most vulnerable residents.
Working Pattern
The Safeguarding Team has a hybrid working pattern, with an expectation of two days based in the Telford office (currently Wednesdays and Thursdays). Applicants must hold a valid practising certificate.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Provide legal advice, assistance and support to Council officers, elected members, external clients, and safeguarding matters.
* Support the child and adult safeguarding services in line with OFSTED/CQC standards.
Qualifications
* Qualified solicitor with practising rights in the UK.
* Valid practising certificate.
