An opportunity has arisen to join our team primarily based at Colchester Hospital, with possible duties at Ipswich Hospital.
Applicants must have completed CCT or equivalent (CESR or portfolio route), be on the Specialist Register, and be within 6 months of achieving this at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
This new post is created due to the development of ESEOC and aims to enhance Trauma services, particularly in complex lower limb trauma at Colchester's busy A&E department.
The post-holder will help develop the revision knee arthroplasty service, collaborate with the MDT, and participate in clinical meetings, audits, governance, and academic development.
Start date is expected to be August 2025. The role involves working at Colchester Hospital and possibly at Ipswich, with flexible working arrangements.
On-call duties are scheduled at 1 in 12, covering adult and paediatric trauma, including subspecialty trauma like periprosthetic fractures.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full GMC registration
* Entry on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview
* FRCS(Tr&Orth) or equivalent
* Relevant clinical training and experience
* Teamwork and communication skills
* Full Driving Licence and access to a car
Desirable
* Higher education or research qualifications
* Fellowship in knee arthroplasty, including revisions
* Management training
* Experience in service improvement and medical education
* Academic experience for setting up academic programs
* Ability to fulfill out-of-hours duties
