Senior Product Designer

My client is a profitable fintech business founded in the UK & now operating globally. After 8yrs of trading behind them & hitting profitability a few years back – Its an exciting time to join the business with focus on scale, customer acquisition and continuous product improvement
They have a unique accounting tech platform platform allowing SME & Mid Market businesses to ‘ grow fearlessly’ with no worry around credit control, cash flow management & accounting as it can all be automated through their software. They are about to become a 3 product company by Q3 on their platform so as a Product Designer it’s a brilliant time to join with large autonomy & influence on the product & customer journey
You will work closely with CPO ( Strong design background herself), Product Manager & 8 engineers – They are a close knit team driven on results & meaningful outcomes for the customers.
You’ll help the team deeply understand user problems, rapidly prototype and validate solutions, and ensure every feature moves the needle on clear, agreed success metrics.
Responsibilities:
* Own the design side of the platform end-to-end, from high-level information architecture down to microcopy, ensuring consistent language, style and interaction patterns
* Frame opportunities, run problem-focused interviews and usability tests, and synthesise insights into clear product directions with the Product Management team
* Translate user needs into hypotheses, design experiments to validate them, and iterate based on data
* Sketch, prototype and test wireframes (low- and high-fidelity) to explore multiple solutions before locking in designs
* Work as part of a “product trio” with Product Management and Product Engineering, ensuring designs are feasible, technically sound and aligned with business goals
* Champion accessibility, inclusivity and ethical design across every aspect of the product
* Produce design system components and detailed specs for seamless hand-off to engineers. Take ownership of this process, always striving to make it better and faster.
Experience:
* 7+ yrs experience in product design roles
* Strong experience in a start up / scale up environment where you have worn multiple different hats
* Confident executing end to end product delivery & being confident in pitching new ideas to stakeholders
* Proven experience in Fintech or Accounting Technology.
* Solutions driven approach – Always striving for ways to deliver
* Expert proficiency with Figma (or equivalent) and rapid-prototyping tools
* Strong visual design sensibility - typography, layout, colour theory and interaction design
