About us:
We currently have two full time permanent Senior Finance Officer positions available in Financial Services. The first role reports to the Place Senior Accountant supporting Environmental Management and Facilities Management teams. The second role reports to Tax & Treasury Senior Accountant supporting on VAT.
About the role:
As well as responsibility for the delivery of accurate and robust financial information to support the Council’s statutory and business critical financial functions, including but not limited to; Budget Setting, Budget Monitoring and Closure of Accounts.
Key duties:
* Attend meetings with relevant stakeholders, sharing both written and verbal financial insights tailored to each audience.
* Assist the Head of Service and Senior Accountant in delivering a high-quality and efficient finance service.
* Offer financial advice, training, and guidance to stakeholders throughout the Council.
* Prepare, examine, and verify financial records to ensure accuracy.
* Collaborate with Services to enhance forecasting and understand significant cost factors.
* Support transformation and improvement initiatives within the service.
