Architectural Technician Job in Warwickshire
working on fast-paced hospitality, commercial and brand rollout projects. This role suits a confident technician who can take ownership of technical packages, coordinate with wider teams, and deliver high-quality drawings to tight deadlines.
This design practice delivers hospitality, retail and commercial fit-out projects, including brand rollout schemes and interior environments. The team works at pace, producing detailed technical information and coordinating with consultants, contractors and local authorities to keep projects moving. You’ll be part of a collaborative studio, working closely with designers and senior technicians while managing your own workload and deadlines.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Produce detailed working drawings and technical packages to a high standard
2. Prepare and submit statutory applications including Planning and Building Regulations
3. Liaise with local authorities, consultants and contractors to resolve technical queries
4. Prepare pavement licence drawings and as-built drawings for Health & Safety files
5. Work closely with Designers and the wider Design Team to develop coordinated drawing packages
6. Manage individual project workloads in line with agreed programmes and deadlines
7. Assist with measured and building surveys, independently or with senior staff
8. Maintain awareness of Planning, Building Regulations and CDM requirements
9. Research construction methods, products and regulatory changes
10. Attend design team and site meetings, representing the practice where required
11. Support delivery of commercial fit-out and brand rollout projects
12. Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure technical accuracy
13. Assist with maintaining the technical library and general project support tasks
14. Work closely with Senior Technicians and Design Leads to meet programme targets.
Required Skills & Experience
15. Minimum 5 years’ experience in an architectural or design-led environment
16. HNC, HND or Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design or similar
17. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing and building systems
18. Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings and specifications
19. Experience working on hospitality, retail or interior fit-out projects preferred
20. Good understanding of Planning, Building Regulations, CDM and design risk assessments
21. Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
22. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
23. Excellent attention to detail and consistency in drawing output
24. Confident communicator, comfortable in client-facing situations
25. Ability to guide junior or freelance staff where required.

26. AutoCAD – Advanced proficiency essential
27. Vectorworks – Working knowledge preferred
28. Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat – Working knowledge
29. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
