Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Perth, Glasgow or Inverness
Salary: £66,100 - £99,100 + car /car allowance + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a Senior Regulation Manager at SSEN Transmission, you’ll join a team where regulation sits at the heart of every strategic decision — securing funding, shaping incentives and turning ambition into real-world delivery. You will play a pivotal role in steering the UK’s clean energy transition through smart regulation, rigorous evidence and confident engagement with Ofgem. You will help deliver a just, inclusive and equitable transition that puts people’s needs first, minimising negative impacts and unlocking opportunities for acceleration and delivery.

You will join our Regulation leadership community, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure opportunity and compliance go hand in hand, reporting to the Head of Regulatory Policy, Head of Regulatory Investment or Head of Price Control Operations, depending on your specialism.
We have opportunities across the following areas:
Price Control Operations
* T3 Operations: Shape how the RIIO-T3 price control framework drives GB network delivery, transforming operational activity into regulatory value.
* Regulatory Reporting: Own the RIIO-T3 reporting engine and lead the RIIO-T2 Close Out, delivering trusted evidence, strong assurance and persuasive engagement that protects and grows SSEN Transmission’s regulatory value.
Regulatory Policy
* Future Frameworks & Strategic Investment: Design the regulatory foundations of the future network, secure early funding for major strategic investments, and shape the next generation of regulatory frameworks, including future price controls, to enable sustained investment well into the 2030s.
* Regulatory Policy: Influence the rules of the future energy system by leading our policy position across key areas including competition, connections reform and network charging - shaping decisions that impact the whole GB market.
Regulatory Investment
* Strategic Investment Portfolio: Drive forward the largest strategic investment programmes in a generation, securing timely funding and ensuring regulatory alignment for projects critical to Net Zero delivery.
* Clean Power Portfolio: Lead the regulatory strategy that underpins Scotland’s future electricity infrastructure, securing funding for local communities and connection customers’ investments across the T3 period.
You will
* Secure compliant, optimised delivery of our RIIOT2 and T3 settlements, protecting allowances and maximising incentive value.
* Lead high value funding submissions, gaining approval from Ofgem, for critical infrastructure across Scotland. value funding submissions through licence Uncertainty Mechanisms for critical infrastructure across Scotland.
* Design the future regulatory pathway, informing price control design, incentives, competition and charging reform. You’ll act as a trusted partner to Ofgem, building a credible, transparent and solutions focused relationship.
* Translate strategy into action, turning delivery activity and policy change into clear regulatory constructs, evidence and governance.
* Develop people and capability, leading experienced teams and strengthening regulatory excellence across the business.
You have
* Significant experience in utilities regulation and/or policy development with a track record of delivering ambitious regulatory strategies.
* Sharp commercial and systems thinking, with a strong grasp of how regulation interacts with politics, markets, engineering and delivery.
* Influence and judgement, communicating complex topics clearly and negotiating outcomes that stand up to scrutiny.
* Portfolio leadership, from shaping submissions and managing assurance to steering cross functional decision making.
* Proven people leadership, building high performing teams and developing capability.
