Management of a multi-discipline team, directing support provided from shared resources and engagement with other work parties.
You will act as the conscience for all matters relating to Operations Readiness across Business functions and Major Projects. You will be the single point of accountability for delivering Ops Readiness activities, ensuring project scope is delivered according to standards and within budgets.
Representing Operational Readiness to the Senior Team, you will track, monitor, and report on project performance, including safety, quality, value, and timeliness of scope delivery.
Key Accountabilities
1. Lead Operations Readiness in daily activities, defining priorities for smooth transition and receipt of physical assets from Project to Operational Phase.
2. Act as the primary contact for Operational Readiness issues, including problem solving, integration, and guidance.
3. Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of project requirements, ensuring key documents and records are aligned.
4. Manage project delivery to specifications, budget, schedule, and quality standards, including deliverables from third parties.
5. Ensure technical responsible persons review and accept systems prior to handover.
6. Manage projects in compliance with company procedures and guidelines.
7. Motivate and manage the performance of the Operational Readiness project team.
8. Maintain up-to-date contractual documentation aligned with project scope and status.
9. Prepare and present reports on project performance and forecasts.
10. Proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
11. Lead health and safety management in line with company standards.
12. Coordinate activities with other projects and station work groups.
13. Monitor project schedule alignment to avoid conflicts.
14. Promote learning from project experiences through feedback activities.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of power generation or heavy engineering industry.
* Experience managing multiple complex projects across various industries.
* Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental legislation, and quality systems.
* Strong influencing, negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
* Ability to foster respect and community within teams.
* Understanding of technical, contractual, risk, behavioral, and project management aspects.
Experience
* Managing complex contracts, with roles such as Project Manager or similar in engineering design and construction environments.
* Experience with operational and maintenance systems and practices.
* Leading and developing teams.
* Delivering engineering projects in the energy sector.
Qualifications
* Essential: Degree in engineering, project management qualification (e.g., APM, PMI), IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH General Certificate.
* Desirable: NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
