Estimating Lead at NSS Maintenance
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. Car allowance: £6,000.
Location: Altrincham.
Division: NSS Maintenance are a working at height contractor working throughout UK, servicing facilities management clients and the refurbishment industry alike. Our national coverage operates from four UK depots to offer planned and reactive building fabric maintenance and refurbishment services to commercial, retail and industrial sectors. We currently employ 600 employees directly across the NSS Group and own a fully‑serviced truck‑mounted access fleet, which we use in‑house for reactive and planned maintenance and cleaning requests.
Overview of your role
As Estimating Lead for the Maintenance division, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, competitive tenders across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will support the Head of Estimating by overseeing quote approvals, maintaining high standards of quality control, and providing guidance to the wider estimating team including close collaboration with surveyors, contract managers, and the sales team. The role includes some light management duties and covering of Head of Estimating duties when on annual leave.

Responsibilities
* Maintain quality control standards across all maintenance quotations.
* Help support and mentor junior estimators within the maintenance team.
* Ensure all opportunities are completed within agreed SLAs.
* Collaborate with surveyors to ensure accurate site data is captured.
* Provide technical input and support to the sales team on complex or high‑value opportunities.
* Assist in refining estimating processes and documentation for clarity and efficiency.
* Lead the preparation and submission of maintenance tenders from enquiry through to award.
* Review drawings, specifications, and site constraints to fully understand project scope.
* Support in the bid/no bid process.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
* Attend site surveys and client meetings where required to support with maintenance quotes and tender bids.
