Overview
Lead Security Officer / Security Officer at Blundell’s School. This permanent role is 33 hours per week, predominantly evenings (5pm–12am), 4–5 days per week on a two-week rota including alternate weekends. Closing date: 26 September 2025 (may close early if shortlist is formed). Salary up to £28,740 DOE.

The Role
* Provide a consistent, professional, and thorough security presence across the campus
* Undertake regular patrols, monitor and secure buildings, and ensure safety and security systems (gates, lighting, CCTV) are functional
* Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies; support fire safety drills and statutory testing; act as a first point of contact during lockdowns or other emergencies
* Assist with events, deliveries, and collections
* Liaise with lettings teams and external agencies regarding school facilities
* Support school events and activities
* Help manage access control systems, issuing and monitoring cards and keys
* Support fire safety compliance
* Review site security and conduct security awareness training for staff
* Provide on-call cover from midnight to 6am on a rota basis
About You
* Previous experience in a security role
* Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures
* Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
* The ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Reliability and punctuality
* Trustworthiness and ability to handle confidential information
* Proactive approach and ability to work independently
* Team player with a positive attitude
* A valid driving licence
