Lecturer in Counselling - Temp to July 2026 Hourly Paid
Salary £27.04 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
1. Purpose of Job
Plan, deliver, and develop high-quality learning opportunities for students to help them achieve their learning goals, in accordance with the College’s mission, values, and objectives.
Provide professional support in curriculum development, delivery, student support, placement, and assessment, including associated organisational, administrative, and management responsibilities.
2. Principal Accountabilities
The duties of a Lecturer are wide-ranging and professional in nature. They include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and internal moderation across a broad range of courses, including Higher Education.
2. Develop curricula, course plans, learning materials, assignments, activities, and assessments for student learning.
3. Monitor and assess student progress through coursework, projects, and exams, maintaining accurate records.
4. Offer quality tutorship to support students in achieving academic and vocational targets, including reporting and stakeholder communication.
5. Lead courses to ensure high retention and achievement, including planning, designing activities, and liaising with college services.
6. Guide potential and current students through interviews, applications, enrolment, and inductions, facilitating smooth transitions.
7. Monitor attendance and maintain accurate student records within the College’s MIS.
8. Organise student placements in coordination with business development advisers and communicate with workplace students.
9. Review course performance and plan improvements based on feedback from students, employers, and other stakeholders.
10. Engage in marketing and partnership development with local schools, sector representatives, and employers to enhance programmes and recruitment.
11. Participate in College events such as Open Evenings, Parent’s Evenings, and enrolment activities.
12. Engage in professional development and contribute to staff mentoring and appraisal processes.
13. Support policies regarding quality assurance, health & safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
14. Operate flexibly to meet organisational needs and perform other duties as required.
