Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Coventry City Council is looking for a Children and Family Worker to join our dynamic Children’s Services team.
About the Role As a Children and Family Worker, you will work directly with children, young people, and their families to empower them to make lasting positive changes. You will act as a Key Worker, holding a caseload and delivering integrated, intensive family support—including for families with complex needs or those facing significant challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building trusting relationships with families to support change.
* Assessing family needs and developing tailored support plans.
* Delivering targeted interventions, both individually and in group settings.
* Working closely with partner agencies (Health, Education, Police, Housing, etc.).
* Attending and leading multi-agency meetings, contributing to court reports where needed.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
This is a flexible role, and you may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the families you support.
About You We’re looking for someone with:
* A recognised qualification at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in childcare or related subject—or relevant experience in the criminal justice or family support field.
* Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and family support interventions such as Triple P or Strengthening Families.
* Experience delivering family support and group work with hard-to-reach families.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and record-keeping skills.
* Confidence in working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
