The Hays senior finance interim & contracts team are supporting a valued public sector client with the appointment of an Interim Assistant Chief Accountant on a long-term assignment (minimum 12 months, January 2026 to potentially March 2028).
We're looking for a qualified accountant with strong local government experience who can support the full financial remit:
1. Accounts preparation
2. Quarterly budget monitoring
3. Government returns
4. Audit queries
5. Budget setting
6. Business cases & financial implications reviews
Key Details:
7. Day Rate: £500-£600 per day (flexible for the right person)
8. Hybrid Working: 1-2 days per week on-site (free parking)
9. Interviews: As early as next Friday
10. Start: This month
