Are you an experienced Construction Project Planner with a passion for developing winning programmes and tender planning strategies? We’re working exclusively with a dynamic UK civil engineering contractor operating across water, highways and commercial infrastructure projects. The Role
As Construction Project Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the bid and pre‑construction process by leading programme development and tender planning activities. You’ll work closely with commercial, estimating and project delivery teams to shape integrated project plans that reflect risk, resources, and client expectations.
This is a tender‑programme biased role, offering the opportunity to influence project strategy at the early stages of major infrastructure bids.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and development of tender programmes for bids across multiple sectors (water, highways, commercial).
* Analyse client requirements, contract conditions (NEC/FIDIC etc.) and delivery constraints to create robust, compliant programmes.
* Work with estimating and commercial teams to align time‑related assumptions with cost planning and risk registers.
* Coordinate with project managers and technical leads to gather inputs and assumptions for programme formation.
* Identify key milestones, critical paths, float, resource loading and key procurement sequencing.
* Present programme insights and methodology to internal teams and contribute to client submissions.
* Support continuous improvement of planning templates, standards and contractual planning processes.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Construction Project Planner, Planner/Programme Manager or similar role within civil infrastructure or contracting environment.
* Strong experience producing tender and bid programmes (P6, MS Project, TILOS or similar).
* Excellent understanding of NEC contract planning obligations and impact of time risk analysis.
* Ability to communicate clearly with commercial, estimating and delivery teams.
* Accurate schedule interpretation, critical path analysis and scenario planning.
* Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
