DP World are currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join our fast-paced site based in Hinckley. In this role, you will oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems that occur on their shift. This position operates on a WEEKLY rotating shift pattern:
1. Week 1: 8am - 4.30pm
2. Week 2: 12pm - 8.30pm
3. Week 3: 8pm - 12.30am
Plus, you will work one Sunday a month.
About the role:
* Responsible for all on-shift Health, Safety, and Environmental issues, including incident investigations and corrective actions. Ensure all employees understand the importance of safe working and adhere to site H&S procedures.
* Identify and implement corrective actions for issues affecting departmental KPIs and suggest process improvements to enhance operational performance.
* Represent the department at internal and external meetings, communicate shift issues and performance, and participate in reviews and walk-throughs.
* Manage manpower effectively to support delivery requirements, support Lean Manufacturing principles, and drive absence control procedures to maximize attendance. Handle personnel issues in line with company policy.
* Maintain accurate Standard Work documentation, audit employees against standards, and coach staff to ensure process consistency and a zero-tolerance for deviations.
* Identify training needs, support employee development, and ensure all training is documented and signed off.
* Drive departmental quality objectives, conduct PPS activities, and perform root cause analysis for issues like scrap costs or stock losses.
* Assist with engineering changes, production trials, and pilot builds.
* Support development of customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts.
* Collaborate with senior management on organizational vision, strategy, and hiring.
* Implement growth strategies, set organizational goals, and manage performance and operations planning.
* Supervise operations and employee productivity, fostering an inclusive culture that supports organizational goals.
* Ensure effective onboarding, professional development, and retention of staff.
Your Key Skills:
* At least two years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
* Strong leadership skills, integrity, and resolve.
* Understanding of business planning and data analysis.
* Ability to diagnose problems quickly and anticipate issues.
